Henry Cook moved to the Plano area in the late 1840s. With his wife, Sally, they had six children. One daughter Rachel first married William Bridges. After his death, she married Joseph Baccus. Rachel acquired Henry Cook’s land and in 1878 she deeded it to the heirs of Henry Cook for the Baccus Christian Church and adjacent to it the Baccus Cemetery. Daniel Cook, son of Henry Cook, was the first to be buried in the Baccus Cemetery in 1847.
Joseph and Rachel Baccus had several children. Their son, Henry married Jennie Bishop. Their children were Ira, Earl, and Auburn. Thanks to Jennie B. Baccus for saving her family photographs and documents, we are able to provide this collection.
